I have been looking for the long lost "Jonathan Swift silver mines” that are somewhere in Kentucky. This guy was there at least 8 times in the 1760s and found so much silver he was buying ships to put to sea for trade! It’s a long story but thousand have looked for these rich mines,,,which still have millions in bullion still stored in one of the mines his group discovered and worked. He went to England to get  engineers to build a road to the mines, while there he spoke for a free America and was jailed for 12 years, got out but was blind, retrieved his journal from a friends widow, found out all his partners were killed in the revolutionary war or by indians. Had to have peole lead heim around, and never found the land marks in the journal.

Well, there is now a group of Swift mine hunters that are going to meet at the Grayson Reservoir in KY to put our heads together and share some information, it will be on the 26 and 27th of June at the reservoir parking lot. So far 13 are confirmed for this weekend long meet! They are from all over the place, You are invited, we are reserving camping sites and there is plenty of motels in Grayson (just west of Ashland KY).

Someone will find the mines soon; they will be using a H3 when they do because Swift buried the mines and left no trace of their exact location, the only thing that will find it is the H3! He did leave some landmarks that are very close to the locations. I looked for them in the early 1980s and found one of his “lesser mines”. Later I obtained some information about some Indian mines in the same general area and located all 6 of them. When I find a good cache for a grubstake I plan to buy the property the Indian said “was the richest mine the Indians ever saw”! Until then I am having the time of my life with the H3.
