Today, May 15, 2010... I meet with a man who has done a huge amount of research into the Lafitte Treasure of Hendrick's Lake. Texas....a story that seems to have some prospects of reality....
The man I was with had dove on Hendrick's Lake about 4 years ago and had a hit on his underwater (Seahorse detector model???????) and was chased out of the Lake by very large Alligators.....the land owner at the time was unwilling to remove or have the gators killed....
I first scanned the area for silver.....not a single hit, except for our sample.......scanned again with gold and I got a good hit right at the same spot as he had with his underwater detector 4 years earlier...(I did not know the location of his original hit...as he had not revealed it to me...)... but H3 found it....no problem...Scanned the rest of the lake and surrounding area...no hits...
Turned around and scanned 180 out from the lake hit...and got a very significant hit... somewhere in between 1/4 to 1/2 mile away..actually shot several lines and the lines hit the same spot...but both targets are on private property and behind locked gates and fences... we are searching for the land owners now....trying to get permission to conduct further studies....and do some confirmation of the targets....
Possibly this is the Jean Lafitte treasure that was to have been pushed into the Sabine River to escape being ambushed....the river has moved since 1816... and both locations of the hits are on old Oxbow lakes left behind as the river moved and silted up around them....
I'll keep you in the loop as we progress on this search for Jean Lafitte's treasure....
